Q. What is LungCheck?

A. LungCheck consists of:

  • Online Risk assessment
  • Blood test that can aid in the risk assessment and early detection of lung cancer
  • As the only service provider Check4Cancer has included in the price a FREE CT scan for abnormal blood results and a FREE phone consultation with a respiratory consultant.
  • Results letter and personalised early detection programme within 4-6 weeks

Q. What does a negative LungCheck result mean?

A. A negative result does not indicate the client does not have cancer, nor does it alter the risk of the patient. A patient with a negative result should still be evaluated carefully and monitored regularly as the patient is still at high risk for lung cancer.

Q. How are the patient results reported?

A. LungCheck is reported to the client as either a negative or positive result via mail or telephone call.

Q. Where is the blood sample for LungCheck sent for testing?

A. The sample is sent to a US based CLIA–certified laboratory for testing, analysis, and reporting. All costs in this regard are covered by LungHealth UK.

Q. LungCheck and your insurance:

A. If you have Private Medical Insurance you will need contact your provider and obtain their approval for LungCheck.

Q. How does LungCheck work?

A. Please call LungHealth UK on 0800 085 0228 and we will send you an e-mail allowing you to sign up for LungCheck. You will then proceed with an online Risk Assessment, Symptom Score. Once this is completed, LungHealth UK will contact you to schedule an appointment. During the appointment a blood sample will be collected and sent to a state of the art US based laboratory where highly qualified and thoroughly trained technicians perform numerous steps to measure the presence of autoantibodies associated with tumour antigens (immuno–biomarkers). The antibodies are produced by the immune system in the earliest stages of the disease and can be used to aid in the early detection of cancer. LungHealth UK will report on Risk Assessment, Symptom Score and blood sample PLUS provide you with a personalised early detection programme.
